Founded in 1991 by biologist Jim Wolfe and his wife Marta Iris Salazar. The focus of the project is environmental education, and thousands of butterfly enthusiasts each year visit our Nature Center and four enclosed butterfly gardens. We raise about 50 Monteverde butterfly species by hand to keep our gardens blooming with life. Our friendly and helpful staff of naturalist educators enhance our international reputation!
COST: $7 includes a guided tour for about 1 hour; $5 for students and $3 for kids.
