There is much to see and do in Monteverde. Trips to the two cloud forest reserves are high on the list – including tours along the reserves’ suspension bridges, hiking trails and zip lines – as are visits to the Monteverde Cheese Factory. A great number of museums can be found throughout the area, including ones that focus on bats, butterflies, frogs, orchids and more.
The Casa de Amor is a private rental house. It is cozy and warm, perfect for families or small groups. A queen size bed is located in an upstairs loft, while the downstairs living room has two futons that can be used as couches or beds. Large, tall windows look out onto the wilderness and let in a good amount of light during the day. Guests have access to a private hot water bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. This makes it both easy and fun to purchase groceries at the store and cook at home. There is an outdoor sitting area stocked with hammocks, chairs and a table.
The owners of the house – Janet and Michael – live nearby in their own house. They are extremely friendly and will go out of their way to ensure that guests have a pleasant experience. They also run the Rio Shanti Spa and Wellness Center, which makes it easy for guests to schedule massages or yoga sessions during their stay.
