Hotel Finca Valverde
Hotel Finca Valverde is among the oldest farms in the traditionally farming community of Monteverde. The Valverde family, one of the first to settle in the area, owns it. On their still productive land, the Valverde's harvest coffee for export, as well as most of the vegetables that are served in their small hotel.
Situated as it is, between the region's two most important nature reserves, Finca Valverde is also a haven for more than 100 species of birds and numerous mammals. By exploring the network of trails on the farm, it is possible to observe a good setting. Or simply watch from the balcony of your hotel room.
Set well apart one from the other, on a wooded hillside, each of Hotel Finca Valverde's five charming cabins enjoys its own private space. Every cabin houses two, separate guest rooms which consist of a main bedroom and extra large bathroom complete with bathtub and lots of hot water, plus a sleeping loft.
Every surface, from the writing desk to the wide balcony, glows with the soft patina of polished wood, showing the attention to detail that comes from being 100% family run.
The restaurant serves the delicious, traditional food prepared from recipes that have been handed down through the generations. It also caters to the strictly vegetarian palate or to any other personal taste and pledges to prepare your meal just the way you like it.
Guests looking for evening entertainment might enjoy having a drink at Hotel Finca Valverde bar, while listening to the contagious rhythms of Latin music. Perhaps even be tempted on to the dance floor! It's a great way to meet local people and spend an agreeable couple of hours. No worry about disturbing other guests because the restaurant and bar are a good distance from the cabins.
