Mirador Lodge Cabins

The Mirador Lodge is uniquely located in its own private reserve, outside of Santa Elena, Monteverde. This rustic lodge has most spectacular views of Lake Arenal and the Arenal volcano. Unwind at your cabin porch during the day and marvel at this panorama, and with some luck at night you might even see the lava flowing (weather permitting of course). Using a wind generator as its power supply and with its own Cloud Forest reserve, the Mirador Lodge is dedicated to sustainable eco-tourism and conservation. Situated about 6.6 miles (10 km) out of town and on the Continental Divide, the Mirador Lodge takes a little effort to get to and is subject to rapidly changing weather influences. Monteverde is a one of a kind place and offers a range of activities to keep you busy. Hiking is by far the most popular thing to do; be it in the world famous Cloud Forest Reserves, along Suspension Bridges to see the forest canopy, spotting wildlife in secondary dry forests or even venturing out with your flashlight and a guide during a night hike. Those wanting more action can be catered to on a Canopy Tour, during which you will be attached to a system of cables and thus fly through the tree tops. Mirador Lodge has various different trails throughout its private reserve, where you can go out exploring, day and night. The hotel restaurant specializes in typical Costa Rican food. Cabins at the Mirador Lodge all have hot water showers, a small living area, balcony and some have a stove to warm your room on chilly nights.
