Monteverde Costa Rica Photo Gallery 3

All of these amateur Monteverde Costa Rica pictures were taken on the same morning with a digital camera. I just spent half a day in mid August 2005 walking at a slow pace in the Monteverde Reserve from 8 am until 2 pm barely walking 3km (2 miles), not trying to see anything spectacular like jaguars or quetzals or doing a guided tour or anything fancy. Just taking the time to look around, under and above me.

Details, details. Monteverde is about the the lush jungle and all the life hiding in it. Made possible because it's a cloud forest keeping everything moist with it's daily mist; plants on plants on trees. Layers of life. Visiting the same reserve with a naturalist guide is a totally different experience. That will be the object of another photo gallery I am working on (at an equally slow pace :-). Note that the Santa Elena Reserve as a similar environment but with 10 times less visitors.
