• A stop as you descend out of the cloud forest.
• A break in Cañas or Liberia for a meal or gas.
• A photo stop as the road nears the Pacific coast.

Longer stops can be arranged for an additional fee, priced when you book.

Road notes

The road out of Monteverde is steep and partly unpaved before it joins the paved highway into Guanacaste, with a sometimes potholed final stretch into Tamarindo. We advise against driving after dark, and June–November rain adds potholes and slower going on the mountain stretch.

Vehicles

A sedan or SUV covers 1 to 4 travelers with standard luggage; a premium van fits 5 to 8; a Sprinter is available for larger groups, surfboards or extra luggage. Child seats are available on request.
