Monteverde hosts two world-renowned cloud forest reserves (plus a handful of private and public forests), the top zip lines in the country, coffee plantations, and an ultra-local, ultra-tasty cheese factory. Tramonti’s, a wonderful Italian restaurant, is next door and the ever-fresh bakery, breakfast/lunch spot called Stella’s is just a bit further down the road.

The hotel itself consists of a horseshoe-shaped series of rooms that are both clean and comfortable. They are basic but come equipped with a private bathroom, hot water shower, and fan. A mini-fridge conveniently allows you to stock up on food at the nearby supermarket (making it easy to make breakfast or lunch in the room), while a coffee maker helps you start your day off right.
