Treetop Walkway

Treetop Walkway
The Treetop Walkway guides visitors both through and above the rainforest. A series of 8 suspension bridges, connected by trails totaling 1.9 miles (3 km) in length, provides a birds-eye view of the rainforest canopy. From these bridges – which vary from 150 ft (50 m) to 500 ft (170 m) in length and are suspended from heights ranging from 36 ft (12 m) to 180 ft (60 m) – visitors will easily be able to study this unique tropical ecosystem, catching glimpses of birds, monkeys, sloths and more as they make their way across.

Naturalist Guided Tour

Guided tours – led by bilingual, professionally trained guides – are available as well. On these tours, participants will learn about the plants, mammals and birds that call Monteverde home, as well as hear stories that unravel the region’s captivating cultural history. Self-guided tours, however, are an ideal choice for anyone wanting to experience this forest at their own pace.

This walkway can be enjoyed by visitors of all ages and physical abilities, and will take about 2.5 hours to complete. It’s recommended to have long pants, suitable shoes and a waterproof jacket. Naturally, cameras and binoculars will come in handy while touring this area.
